Jury duty is over. The parties agreed today to a settlement of $150,000. As the judge noted, "Both lawyers were unhappy, so I know it was a fair settlement." About 1/3 goes to the plaintiff's lawyer, leaving $100,000 for her, minus any "expenses." Which I assume will really add up, considering today's expert witness was compensated at $400 an hour.
I'm in the wrong business!
