Two shows ended this week, both on happy but unexpected notes.
On Sex & The City, Carrie went for Mr. Big, going against conventional wisdom that says you don't trust a guy who's been a jerk for so long. But she loved him, and couldn't get him out of her mind, even after being swept off her feet to Paris. She followed her heart.
Last night on The Bachelorette, Meredith chose Ian, the cool and somewhat detached city guy, over Matthew, the sweet and adoring boy from the country. Matthew was the safe choice. Ian was the uncertain choice. America wanted her to choose safe - happily ever after - a storybook ending. But Meredith wanted something more. She followed her heart.
Real life is not so different from fiction, or in the case of The Bachelorette, pseudo-fiction. Take some time today to look at your job, your relationship...your life.
